Making our communities stronger and healthier is at the core of everything we do at Sanford Health. As the nation’s premier rural health system, we’re committed to delivering world-class health care no matter where you live. Our care extends beyond our medical centers and clinics. We are active in the communities we serve, investing substantial resources to drive more opportunity and better health for all.
Community Partnerships
Sanford Health partners with nonprofit organizations to strengthen the health, social and economic well-being of the communities we serve. We prioritize support for community initiatives that address needs in theCommunity Health Needs Assessment (CHNA)and focus on vulnerable populations.
Request Funding
Each community is unique, so each funding request considers local conditions. We have established criteria, however, to guide these decisions. Our community giving follows two different processes, based on the amount of the request within the calendar year.

Charitable Donations and Sponsorships (Requests for $20,000 or less).

Community Investments (Requests for more than $20,000).
Funding requests for more than $20,000 must meet criteria demonstrating an identified community health need. A cross-functional enterprise committee evaluates applications twice a year. Award cycles will occur in May and October.
Please note that Sanford is not able to fund requests from:
- For-profit Organizations
- Political Campaigns/Candidates
- Individual Funding
