Sanford Health recommends annual mammograms starting at age 40. Your team will work with you to create a personal prevention plan.

Schedule a Mammogram

When scheduling a screening, let us know if:

  • You’ve noticed any changes in your breasts.
  • You have difficulty standing.我们可以安排你坐着做乳房x光检查。
  • You have breast implants.Implants can hide some breast irregularities, so we’ll schedule your appointment with a technologist and radiologist experienced in X-raying women with breast implants.

If we catch an irregularity, you’re in good hands. We offer a variety of additional screening and diagnostic services:

  • Breast ultrasound. A diagnostic tool that can detect breast cancer earlier –even in women with dense breast tissue.
  • Breast MRI. MRIs provide insights into your overall breast health and can spot cancer at its most treatable stage.
  • Breast biopsy. By examining a small sample of your cells, experts can get answers about your breast health.
  • DEXA bone scans. Cancer survivors are at an increased risk of osteoporosis. Bone scans can catch bone density loss early.

Genetic Counseling

Certain genetic mutations can affect your breast cancer risk. Edith Sanford Breast Center offers genetic testing and counseling to determine if you’re at a higher risk.
