    Missing Connection: Baby Born with Rare Brain Disorder

    Grace Connaughton, 1, was born with a rare disorder called agenesis of the corpus callosum, better known as ACC. She required brain surgery at just 1 day old at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. After the family took Grace home to Bismarck, they were able to follow up without a 2-1/2 hour drive to Fargo because their doctor comes to Sanford Heath in Bismarck once a month to check up on Grace and patients like her.

    Dad Races While Pushing Son with Muscular Dystrophy

    Levi Gagner of Cavalier, North Dakota, is a smiley, cheerful 4-year-old who loves participating in half marathons with his dad, Kyle. Levi developed a very rare form of muscular dystrophy before his first birthday for which there is no treatment or cure. With very limited mobility, Levi's unable to support his head, sit up, stand or walk. But when he's in his chair, the wind in his hair, on a run with his dad, he couldn't be happier or more excited.
