Sanford Children's Child Life Specialists are here to help your child and family cope with the emotional, developmental and social changes brought about by illness, injury or hospitalization.

Your child can lean on our dedicated specialists to ease their fears and help them cope through age-specific play, preparation and therapeutic activities. Parents and siblings also can rely on us for emotional and educational support. Through a variety of programs, activities and support groups, we make sure your child is empowered and supported at our children's hospitals.

Your Child's Primary Care Physician in the Hospital

Sanford Children's pediatric hospitalists are physicians who only provide care in a hospital setting. They treat children who are admitted to the emergency room, or referred for hospitalization by their primary care doctor or a specialist.

Hospitalists provide primary hospital care and coordinate referrals to specialists during your child's hospital stay. Our team of pediatric hospitalists are on duty 24/7 and available within a moment's notice during your child's hospitalization.
